How does integrative therapy differ from other types of counselling?
Unlike single-approach therapies, integrative therapy is highly adaptable and draws on multiple models. This provides flexibility to adapt the therapy process to suit you.
What happens in a therapy session?
Therapy sessions typically involve exploring what troubles you. You choose what we talk about and discuss in each weekly session. We will consider how this issue, worry or concern presents itself in your mind and body. Our 50-minute session provides an opportunity for you to be heard and listened to without judgement.
Do you offer online or telephone therapy?
Yes, I offer secure online sessions via Zoom. It is important that our online sessions must take place inside a private and secure space enabling you to talk freely and safely without being disturbed or interrupted. I offer therapy via the telephone for clients who feel more comfortable without a camera.

Does therapy via Zoom or telephone cost the same amount as an in-person therapy appointment?
Yes. My fee for all sessions whether in-person, online or by telephone is £70.00 for a 50-minute therapy appointment. I offer a reduced rate for counsellors in training and clients on a low wage. I ask that you transfer my fee into my bank account, 24 hours prior to our appointment.
Are our therapy sessions confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential, except in very rare cases where there is a legal or ethical duty to extend confidentiality to another professional.
How many therapy sessions will I have?
You choose the number of sessions we have. Some clients request short-term work (for instance 8–12 sessions) whilst others prefer ongoing, open-ended therapy for as long as they wish to attend. Our sessions will usually be held on the same day at the same time every week. However, if possible, I can be flexible for clients who work shifts or have an ever-changing workplace rota.

Do you have a supervisor?
Yes. As a registered member of BACP I am ethically bound to have regular supervision. Should I choose to take our work to supervision I will only every refer to
you as my client. To protect your anonymity, I do not use your name. My supervisor is bound by the same BACP Ethical Framework and so they too must also adhere to this strict confidentiality.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
I suggest you contact me to arrange an initial session and see if you feel I am the right counsellor for you. You will know in your gut and in your heart if it feels right. You feeling comfortable, connected and supported is fundamental for us to work effectively together.

What can I expect from my first session?
Your first session will be slightly different to subsequent appointments. It is an initial consultation, an opportunity for you to share with me what brings you to therapy and to see if you feel we are potentially a ‘good fit.’ At our first session I will also ask you several general questions to gather some initial information and knowledge about you so that I can get to know you.

Do you offer any grounding, breathwork or gentle bodily exercises in your therapy sessions?
Yes. As an integrative therapist I am very open to using a range of approaches. I am very interested in the mind/body relationship and happily offer centring breathing exercises and gentle body scans at the start of sessions – but only if you are comfortable and wish to try co-regulating in this way.
Will I need to share my GP details with you?
Yes. In the highly unlikely event that I may feel concerned about you and need to
inform/seek guidance from a medical practitioner, it is important you share with me at
the start of our work the name of your GP and address of your surgery.
Do you work with adults, couples, or young people?
I work with all adults aged 18+.
What is your cancellation policy?
To avoid being charged for the full session fee I ask that you give 48 hours’ notice via email or text if you wish to cancel. If you arrive late, please note it will not be possible to extend your session. I will provide you with as much notice as I possibly can regarding my forthcoming holidays and request that you do the same. If I must cancel a session due to illness, I will give you as much notice as possible and you will not be charged.
Can I end therapy at any time?
Yes, you can choose to end therapy at any time. You will know when our ending is
approaching. Ideally it is advisable that you share your wish to end at least x 3 weeks before our final meeting so we can work together to prepare a satisfactory ending that allows you to move forward with confidence and autonomy.
My clinical will
In the event of my sudden, unplanned inability to practice due to serious illness (or death) I have made arrangements to ensure my clients are cared for. I have a Clinical Will appointing a trusted and qualified colleague, my Clinical Executor, to act on my behalf.
My Clinical Executor's role is to:
-
Notify you of my inability to continue our work.
-
Safely manage your contact details and records, respecting the same strict confidentiality we have agreed upon and adhering to all data protection laws.
-
Offer appropriate support and, with your consent, provide referrals or help you find another suitable therapist if you wish to continue therapy.
Please note that my next of kin has been informed to contact my Clinical Executor should I unexpectedly be able to continue our work together due to serious illness or death.
Further information about how your data is managed, stored, and eventually securely disposed of (typically after 7 years as recommended by legal advisers) can be found in my Privacy Statement.
